Ten Words

One of my first projects in my animation class was called Ten Words. In this project we were tasked with picking out ten words that would describe us, I picked about thirteen. Then we used simple animations to create the project. This was really used to teach us the ropes of all the technology. We learned how to make basic animations.

We began the project by looking for adjectives that described us. I had a bit of trouble at first because nothing immediately came to mind. We then worked on putting our words into Adobe Photoshop. We started with designing patterns and colors to make each work unique. After this, we learned how to make simple animations, so that our words would move during the video. I found myself trying more complex animations as began getting more comfortable. In the end, we had a bit of trouble rendering and exporting the video, since Photoshop would shut down before exporting it.

For my project, I used thirteen words that I felt described me the most. They were Creative, ambitious, eccentric, adaptable, intuitive, practical, passionate, amiable, resourceful, thoughtful, philosophical, quiet, and strict. Of these thirteen, I think the three that describe me best are creative, ambitious and eccentric. I chose creative because I am a bit of a dreamer and love to create things. I chose ambitious because I am curious and ready to achieve my goals. Lastly, I chose eccentric because I have an unconventional way of doing things. If I want it done, I'll do it myself, and I'll do it my own way.

I was glad that this was the first project we did. I really didn't know how to use Adobe Photoshop until now and I am glad that I got to learn the basics.
