Logos
Logos
For one of our last projects in graphic design we were tasked with making our own logos. This project required all our knowledge from all our previous projects to finish. At first, I thought that the logos would be easy, I kept getting new ideas for logos all the time. Once it became time to start brainstorming, I didn't get as many ideas as I had previously thought, and the ideas that i did get where too complicated for me to do in the rime that we had, but I had gotten attached to the few ideas that were not as complicated. That's how I picked my first idea, a coffee cup.
The coffee cup idea was one of my first sketches. I had planned for a while on how to make it in the program and I knew that the final outcome would be simplistic. However, before I could begin in the program, I ended up getting sick, which caused me to miss two days of school. This set me back quite a bit, so I wasn't able to work without an e-comm computer. I couldn't spend as much time trying out logos when I got back. This made me immediately start on the coffee cup idea. After working on the idea for a while, I was inspired to try and make a different logo, to see how they would compare. This idea hadn't previously been sketched out so I had to try it quickly. I came up with several different iterations of this idea. It had originally utilized either a type or cursive typeface with my initials. I decided to stick with this idea for a bit and scrap the coffee cup idea. I soon realized that this idea was a bit too basic and decided to add the coffee cup to the new design.

I took the old, unfinished template and changed it to fit the logo. I also decided against a cursive text and used a regular typeface. I was not particularly happy that the cup looked so simplistic but I was glad that it turned out better than I initially thought it would. I liked the mockups that I did because I thought the logo looked better there. All in all, I loved this project and would love to work on it again.
